Sania to be satisfied with year end top 50 ranking

Forced to take a three-week sabbatical owing to injuries, Sania Mirza moved a rung up to the 39th position in the latest WTA singles rankings announced yesterday.

The Hyderabadi teenager, with 516.75 ranking points, was placed 40th last week.

While launching her signature collection in the capital last week, Sania had announced that she had no plans to wield the racquet before French Open.

She had also maintained that defending the points in her second season was a challenging task and she would be happy to end the year with a place in the top 50.
