Sania through to second round at Forest Hills

Sania Mirza breezed into the second round of the Forest Hills Women's Tennis Classic after defeating American wildcard Alexa Glatch 6-2, 6-3 in New York.

The Hyderabadi teenager next faces fourth seed Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain on Center Court for a place in the semifinals of the final tune-up event for the US Open.

The Spaniard defeated Czech Republic's Iveta Benesova 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 in the first round.
