Sania Mirza might have dropped to 44 in the WTA singles rankings, but the Indian teenager is determined to improve the figures.

In the ongoing Acura Classic tournament, Sania advanced to the singles third round.

After an impressive run in the doubles, Sania Mirza is back to form in singles as well.

After her win over America's Meghann Shaughnessy, she beat Slovakia's Katarina Srebotnik 6-3, 7-6 to advance to the singles third round.

Sania will play Russia's Elena Dementieva in the next round.
